For a fun-filled family day out, head to Narara’s Central Coast Steam Model Co-Op on the first Saturday of each month and take a ride aboard a miniature train.
For over ten years, Narara has come alive with the sounds of trains chugging along small tracks on a property tucked away on Showground Road.
For many Central Coast locals, the miniature trains at Narara have always been a popular attraction on weekends. The fun and low-cost activity has long been a hit with local parents, and tourists alike.
The event, that has run the first Saturday of every month and is run by the Central Coast Steam Model Co-Op – an organisation operated completely by volunteers with a passion for miniature trains.
The open days provide an opportunity for kids and adults to ride a selection of miniature trains on extensive tracks that have been installed on the property.
On the day, visitors can ride the trains or sit on one of the real train platform seats to watch the event. There are also tables, and picnics are welcomed by the club.
Saturday 3 June 2023, saw members of Central Coast Freemasons provide their support for the Model Steam Railway at Narara by providing sausage sandwiches and drinks for purchase by those visiting the model railway.
Profits from the sale of the sausage sizzle and drinks were donated to the model railway Co-Op to assist in the running of the popular facility.
